Lili Guo obtained Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. Working under the direction of Dr. Xiaolu Yang in the Cancer Biology Department, Lili’s main research project was focused on the function of a tumor suppressor which also has a protective effect on neurodegenerative diseases. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher in Dr. Ian A. Blair‘s lab, studying cancer metabolism and biomarker analysis using mass spec analysis.

Before starting her career in science, Lili had many years of professional training in fine art by her parents, who are professional artists. She is now integrating her talent and passion in art into her biomedical research. She has created three covers for her own first-authored research papers in Molecular Cell (2014), Journal of Biomedical Chemistry (2016) and Rapid Communications in Mass Spectrometry (2016) as well as many other covers and illustrations for collaborative works.
