Lili Guo obtained Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. Working under the direction of Dr. Xiaolu Yang in the Cancer Biology Department, Lili’s research focused on the function of a tumor suppressor which also has a protective effect on neurodegenerative diseases. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher in Dr. Ian A. Blair’s lab, studying cancer metabolism using mass spec analysis.

Before starting her career in science, Lili already had 13 years of professional training in fine art. She is now combining her talent and passion for art and science to create artwork, illustrations and animations for the scientific community. She has created two covers for her own first-authored research papers in Molecular Cell and Journal of Biological Chemistry!
